Guest performance for the 10th anniversary gala and art auction for H'art of Ottawa.
Dr. Sketchy is celebrating the visuals from my recent concert series, "The Corruption of Flesh," by hosting my fauns (C.c. Trubiak & Olexandra Pruchnicky) and I as life models. If you love to draw, grab some paper and pencils, come out, and let yourself be corrupted. It will be a wonderful night of debauchery and art!
Featuring a performance by electro-poetic recording artist Danniel Oickle and guests C.C. Trubiak & Olexandra Pruchnicky, "The Corruption of Flesh" is part performance art and part electro-pop concert. Throughout history, there have been many representations of God and the Devil. One such representation has been around for more than 4000 years and represents the God of sexuality and nature. Though he goes by many names, one most notable is Pan; he is represented as half man & half goat, a faun, which is why creatures of nature still holds his name (fauna). As with most religions as they fall out of practice, the previous Gods are knocked from their realms and cast out. Pan was stripped of his divinity and became the recognized visual for the Christian Devil. His worship was called satanic and his love of sex and nature were bastardized. In "The Corruption of Flesh" we will delve into the world where sexuality and religion (Love & Hate) collide, and nature in all its forms is held above. It is an ancient war between who we are and who we tell ourselves we should be. Eat of the fruit and it will set you free! The performance will contain songs from the albums "Poison Apples & Other Delicacies" (2011) and "The Corruption of Flesh" (2011-2012) with spoken performances of works from the books "Dancing in Silence" (2010) and the soon to be published "My Heart Has Teeth" (2012).
"The Corruption of Flesh" is a multi-disciplinary exhibition and performance art presentation of the album "Poison Apples & Other Delicacies" and the release of the EP "The Corruption of Flesh." It will wind its way through the mountainous themes of "Sexuality vs. Religion" and "Love vs. Hate." The show will consist of visual arts (photography, ink, painting), video and auditory presentations, & a concert performance by Danniel Oickle (featuring Olexandra Pruchnicky & C.C. Trubiak). On display, and available for purchase for the first time, will be select visual arts pieces from the collections: "Mythos" (2009), "Devil in the Details" (2011), and "Through the Keyhole" (2010). The performance will contain songs from "Poison Apples & Other Delicacies" (2011) and "The Corruption of Flesh" (2011) with spoken word performances of works from the books "Dancing in Silence" (2010) and the soon to be published "My Heart Has Teeth" (2012). The 6 song release EP ("The Corruption of Flesh") will contain the 3 highly anticipated tracks: "Skin/Genesis 3:2-7" (Feat. Olexandra Pruchnicky), "Gabriel" (Feat. C.C. Trubiak), and "Going Nowhere" (Radio Edit). Come and join the Be-In at Club Saw!
