Q: What is your favorite song to perform? We thoroughly enjoyed listening to your songs.... you have an amazing and beautiful voice. The Belfords

A: Hello, Belford family! Your support and well wishes mean so much to me. Thank you! To answer your question, I love all of the songs that I perform because they are each thoughtfully chosen and learned. Nothing is more meaningful to me than the beautiful, heartfelt lyrics of jazz standards. I usually select songs to perform if I can relate to them from personal experience or if the melody really resonates within me. It's kind of like going shopping and browsing, taking some time to think about a purchase and coming back to seal the sale because you can't live without the item. That's how I feel about the songs I choose and I've worked with wonderful teachers and mentors like Jo Belle Yonely who have made me feel good about remaining true to myself and my special repertoire list. Looking forward to learning new songs and growing more in music. Thanks again! Stay in touch. Love, Carmen
