Hi music lovers!

Stephanie Bettman is an accomplished songwriter, singer, and fiddler.  Her lyrics are infused with wit and wisdom, poetry, and insight. Her vocals combine the soaring soprano of Joan Baez and the plaintive emotion of Emmylou Harris.  Her fiddling masterfully combines elements of bluegrass and jazz.  Luke Halpin is a renowned multi-instrumentalist who is a master of guitar and mandolin, impressive on fiddle, banjo, and adept at nearly anything he picks up.  Halpin draws inspiration from the likes of Sam Bush, Mark O'Connor and Tony Rice and holds his own in comparison.  He has shared the stage with Merle Haggard, Lone Star, Steve Miller, and many more.  A dynamic and sensitive vocalist as well, the blend of Stephanie's and Luke's voices is chillingly beautiful.  As a duo, Bettman & Halpin are fast earning a reputation for hypnotizing performances filled with irresistible lyrics, transcendent harmonies, roof-raising instrumentals, and an occasional dose of quirky humor.  Their music creates a fully acoustic, delightfully eclectic sound far greater than the sum of its parts.  From up-tempo down home fiddlin' to soulful sorrowful ballads, to catchy folk/pop, a Bettman & Halpin show is sure to be an experience that will stick with you long after the concert is over.

Bettman & Halpin will play at Open Ears Concerts Sunday March 24.  We will have a potluck lunch immediately following the second service, and the show will start at 1:30 PM.  Suggested donation $15 but no one will be turned away.
