We are pleased to say that we reached 2000 fans on Facebook
today. Thanks everyone for your support to not only Casbah, but all the live music
venues in Durham. We love to see how far Durham has come just in the past few years
with the live music scene and it keeps getting better and better thanks to your
help. Please continue to tell your friends about Casbah and we hope to see you out
soon.
And now, for a few upcoming shows
in the next week (with a full schedule to follow):
TONIGHT,
Private Party - Yes, Casbah not only has live music, but we also rent out
the venue for private parties, dances, weddings, etc. We can be your home for catering,
live music, video presentations, movie screenings, powerpoint presentations (!)
and whatever else you are looking to do. It's a clean, eclectic space and it's ready
for you. If you are interested in rates and availability, email casbahdurham@gmail.com.
FRI, MAR 22 - GOLDENBOY w/Grownup Noise - This is
Goldenboy's second trip to Casbah and we are happy to have them back. This should
be another fun evening of indie pop music. Check out Goldenboy's most recent video, the title track
to his new album Sleepwalker. 9pm, $10 Tickets
SAT,
MAR 23 - LUEWWD VI: MARCH BADNESS - The League
of Upper Extremity Wrestling Women of Durham returns for another women's armwrestling
tournament for charity. The festivities start at 6pm with a food truck rodeo and
fun and games in the parking lot. At 7:30 the bar inside opens and at 9pm the arm
wrestling begins. The charity for this installment of LUEWWD is Schoolhouse of Wonder. By the way, I just searched for
LUEWWD on YouTube and found this one video, which is a pretty great example of
how LUEWWD is way more than just armwrestling. Fun! 6:30pm, $5 TIckets
SUN, MAR 24 - ERIC HIMAN - Eric Himan comes to Durham
for a solo performance featuring music from his 7th studio release, “Supposed
Unknown,” as well as prior recordings and a few surprising cover songs. Eric
is an award-winning nationally-touring soulful/folk/rock artist based in Tulsa,
Oklahoma. His music has been featured on Sirius/XM/s Coffeehouse station, and his
music has been licensed by MTV, VH1, Oxygen, and E. He was Tulsa Weekly’s
Artist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year, and has been featured in The Advocate. 7:30pm, $10/$12

TUE,
MAR 26 - REV PEYTON'S BIG DAMN BAND w/The Old One-Two-
The Rev Peyton returns to Casbah! Join us for a night of rockin' country blues.
There aren’t a lot of Warped Tour vets who can claim proficiency in the use
of washboards, bottleneck slides and five-gallon buckets. Most didn’t spend
their teens playing along to Charlie Patton and Bukka White albums. The Reverend
can. Here's a video, from his last visit to Casbah. $9pm,
$10/$12 Tickets
See
below for many more shows, including Jonas Sees in Color, the Robert Glasper Experiment, Apache Dropout, Hoots and Hellmouth, Eleanor Friedberger, Amy Ray, the Tannahill Weavers, Weedeater, Mike Doughty, Seth Walker, Langhorne Slim and more!
Cheers.
