THE CLANCY LEGACY

Very few families have impacted Irish music as much as the Clancys. From the family of the Clancy Brothers, the wonderful group of Irish sweater clad troubadours, has sprung a generation of musicians who are keeping the music alive. When you read the member lists of the top Irish groups playing out today there is a Clancy or has been a Clancy in the lineup. From Cherish the Ladies to Danu to the Eileen Ivers Band to Green Fields of America there is a Clancy cousin or two. Now we have two of them coming together to play as the Clancy Legacy.

Aoife Clancy, the daughter of Bobby Clancy and her cousin Robbie O’Connell, who was part of the last tours of the legendary Clancy Brothers, represent the next generation of the Clancy family. Both are carrying on the music in their own careers but come together asThe Clancy Legacy for special concerts, limited tours and Festivals to sing old and new songs as their family always has whether at home in Ireland, Carnegie Hall or the Hurdy Gurdy in Fair Lawn!

CEÓL MILIS

An exciting group of Traditional Irish musicians who are members of the Martin Mulvihill Branch of CCE in Pearl River, New York. This group, consisting of high school musicians, won second place in the Ceili Band competition at the Irish Music World Competition known as the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann that was held in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, Ireland in 2009.

Ceól Milis when translated means “sweet music” in Irish. Because of their lively style, Ceól Milis has been requested to play at benefits, festivals and Irish events. Ceól Milis is a talented and dedicated group of teenagers who have a bright future in the world of Irish music.
