Confederate Railroad, The Law Band, Wade Sapp
Tickets: $15 Advance / $20 Door
Atlanta's very own Confederate Railroad comes roaring back to The 120 Tavern & Music Hall on Saturday, April 19th! If you saw them here last year then you know that when these guys get on stage everyone is in for a get down and dirty, boogie woogie honkey tonkin' good ol' time!!! Opening the show are two of our favorite local acts: Always entertaining, The Law Band (you ain't never seen a show like this) & opening the show Mr. Wade Sapp! Get your tickets now and get prepared to party. Confederate Railroad first rolled onto the national country music scene in the early 90s with its unique style and sound. Headed by founder and frontman Danny Shirley, the former backup band for both David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck got their big break by signing with Atlantic Records. The first single from their debut album ("Confederate Railroad") was "She Took It Like A Man". It went to No. 26, a preview of what was to come. "The next two singles, "Jesus and Mama" and "Queen of Memphis" went to the top of the charts. Three more huge hits followed, "Trashy Women", "When You Leave That Way You Can Never Go Back", and "She Never Cried". "Trashy" would lead to a Grammy nomination and become their signature song. That album with six hits and nearly three million sales brought Confederate the Academy of Country Music's Best New Group Award in 1993 as well as numerous nominations from the Country Music Association and the British Country Music Foundation. The second album, "Notorious", produced one of the group's most popular songs "Daddy Never Was the Cadillac Kind" which became a No. One video as well. "Elvis and Andy" and "Summer in Dixie" would further establish the Railroad as one of the most versatile acts in the business. This album would sell more than one million. Their overal totals are 18 charted hits and five million albums sold. From rowdy country to raw emotion, a Confederate Railroad concert today covers a wide range of feelings. Young people will be there rocking to "Trashy Women", while their parents and even grandparents will likely be singing along to "Jesus and Mama". The band plays 100 or so dates each year. Whatever the venue, they are right at home…be it a fair, a club, or a biker show. Shirley, the lead singer and vocalist, and his mates, Mark Dufresne on drums, Wayne Secrest on bass, Rusty Hendrix on lead guitar and Bobby Randall on steel guitar, fiddle and vocals are obviously having fun right along with their appreciative audience. At the end of each show, the band stays around until every fan who wants an autograph, or to pose with the group for a picture or just say "hello" is taken care of.

Maggie Rose, Peyton Parker, Casey Montana Rogers
Tickets: $15 Advance / $20 Door
Join us at The 120 Tavern & Music Hall for country sensation Maggie Rose on Thursday, May 1st! Atlanta and Nashville favorites Peyton Parker and Casey Montana Rogers open the show! Cool and confident, yet warm and approachable with a laugh that’s as melodic as the songs she sings, it’s difficult to look at Maggie Rose and not think that she was born under a very special star. And maybe she was. How else can you explain her journey from Potomac, Maryland—hardly a mecca for country music—to Nashville by way of storied record executive Tommy Mottola (Celine Dion, Mariah Carey)? Mottola wasn’t a friend, or even a family friend. More like a friend of a friend of a friend. But Maggie’s biggest supporter and business partner, Tom Natelli, who had encouraged and nurtured the young songbird’s talent early on, had the chutzpah to ask around until he found someone who knew someone, who knew someone, who lived next door to Tommy. The music executive was impressed enough to encourage Maggie to pursue her music, but since country wasn’t his forte, he equipped the aspiring star with a handful of contacts and enough information to make her way to Nashville. It didn’t take any persuading though. Singing was her dream. She stepped away from Clemson University, where she performed with a Bruce Springsteen cover band, and into her career with encouragement of her parents and Natelli. Why? The singer-songwriter smiles and simply says, “You can hear the story.” It’s that mindset and a healthy dose of diligence that kept Maggie in Nashville since the age of 19. Starry-eyed and a bit naïve, her first run at commercial success positioned her as a voice to be heard and gave her a foothold in Music City, but the songs weren’t quite what she needed. Even she admits, “I just wasn’t ready. I think that was the only difference between then and now is that I’m just ready. In fact, I’m chomping at the bit to get this album out. And before, I wasn’t excited about what I had to share yet. I was excited about being able to sing and do what I love, but I wasn’t totally connected to a body of work. I had singles here and there, but that doesn’t make an artist. I wanted to do something that people could latch on to, and I wanted to start a conversation with my music that people could be a part of.

Super bob
Tickets: $12 Advance / $17 Door
Super bob is a rock band from the Washington DC area formed under the name "bob" in 05. We have four members. Matt Santoro on vocals, Adam Smith on guitar, Drew Recny on bass, and Chris Faircloth on drums. We wont waste your time with a long winded description of our accomplishments, or grandiose exaggerations of who we are and what we've done. To make it short and sweet we will simply say that Super bob is a hard working, dedicated, full time rock band that plays about 240 shows a year (actual shows, not just days on the road). We have 3 full length records (all available on iTunes), recorded by amazing producers (Garth "GGGarth" Richardson, and Matt LaPlant) , our members hold sponsorship's from companies like P.R.S., Sabian, and G.H.S to name a few. Our live show is more than overblown hype, it's a fun, energetic, captivating, physical expression of music with an energy and presence beyond the words that can be written in a bio. We spread through the eastern half of the country by starting in one place, building a following, and moving to the next city. Nothing fancy, no label, no investor just hard work and dedication. We're a new sound in rock and roll, with an old fashioned rock and roll attitude. We're familiar, yet completely different. In 2014 you can expect to hear more new music, we've already started the record. You can also expect to see us on the road 20-25 days a month, every month.
