Wayne Static, We Are The Riot, Corvus
Tickets: $13 Advance / $18 Door
Wayne Static is the enigmatic former frontman and namesake of Static-X, now forging a successful solo career. Wayne Static is considered the Terminator of contemporary rock music with his signature blunt-force-trauma melding of industrial rock, thrash metal, and futuristic disco, which is nothing if not cybernetic. But when you look back at Wayne Static’s 14-year legacy, the comparison goes beyond the music; having weathered musical trends, survived lineup shifts, and even severed long-time creative partnerships to emerge as a streamlined metallic machine.
Wayne’s career started with Static-X and their breakthrough debut,
Wisconsin Death Trip. Static-X has sold over three million records, and
they’ve completed numerous successful world tours including three Ozzfests,
The Family Values Tour and Gigantour.
Static’s recording history is most impressive starting with Cult Of Static
released 2009, debuting at No. 16 on the Billboard charts and sold well over
100,000 copies in its first cycle, while Cannibal, which was released April l
3, 2007, debuted at No. 36 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart, selling more
than 30,000 its first week out and solidifying the band’s place as one of
metal’s pre-eminent artists. The album has gone on to sell more than
160,000 copies. Static-X first burst onto the metal scene in 1999 with their
platinum-certified Warner Bros. debut, Wisconsin Death Trip, followed by the
gold-certified Machine in 2001. From 2005’s Start A War onward, the quartet
had grown tighter, busier, and more road-ready than ever. “Our touring just
got stronger every year,” frontman Wayne Static says, “and our fans knew we
were always going to deliver.” In July 2007 he announced the beginning of a side project, Pighammer, but in a December 2007 interview with, Static stated: “The Pighammer thing will happen when I have time. At the moment though, Static-X will remain my main priority.” Pighammer was finally realized and released on October 4, 2011, marking Wayne’s first solo effort. He formed his own backup band as part of the project, and it was this new lineup that would later tour 2012 as Static-X. Wayne confirmed that the former Static-X had disbanded in June 2013. According to Static, the disputes between himself and the band’s former bassist Tony Campos over the rights to the use of Static-X name have gone way too far, forcing him to disband the four-piece.

Confederate Railroad, The Law Band, Wade Sapp
Tickets: $15 Advance / $20 Door
Atlanta's very own Confederate Railroad comes roaring back to The 120 Tavern & Music Hall on Saturday, April 19th! If you saw them here last year then you know that when these guys get on stage everyone is in for a get down and dirty, boogie woogie honkey tonkin' good ol' time!!! Opening the show are two of our favorite local acts: Always entertaining, The Law Band (you ain't never seen a show like this) & opening the show Mr. Wade Sapp! Get your tickets now and get prepared to party. Confederate Railroad first rolled onto the national country music scene in the early 90s with its unique style and sound. Headed by founder and frontman Danny Shirley, the former backup band for both David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck got their big break by signing with Atlantic Records. The first single from their debut album ("Confederate Railroad") was "She Took It Like A Man". It went to No. 26, a preview of what was to come. "The next two singles, "Jesus and Mama" and "Queen of Memphis" went to the top of the charts. Three more huge hits followed, "Trashy Women", "When You Leave That Way You Can Never Go Back", and "She Never Cried". "Trashy" would lead to a Grammy nomination and become their signature song. That album with six hits and nearly three million sales brought Confederate the Academy of Country Music's Best New Group Award in 1993 as well as numerous nominations from the Country Music Association and the British Country Music Foundation. The second album, "Notorious", produced one of the group's most popular songs "Daddy Never Was the Cadillac Kind" which became a No. One video as well. "Elvis and Andy" and "Summer in Dixie" would further establish the Railroad as one of the most versatile acts in the business. This album would sell more than one million. Their overal totals are 18 charted hits and five million albums sold. From rowdy country to raw emotion, a Confederate Railroad concert today covers a wide range of feelings. Young people will be there rocking to "Trashy Women", while their parents and even grandparents will likely be singing along to "Jesus and Mama". The band plays 100 or so dates each year. Whatever the venue, they are right at home…be it a fair, a club, or a biker show. Shirley, the lead singer and vocalist, and his mates, Mark Dufresne on drums, Wayne Secrest on bass, Rusty Hendrix on lead guitar and Bobby Randall on steel guitar, fiddle and vocals are obviously having fun right along with their appreciative audience. At the end of each show, the band stays around until every fan who wants an autograph, or to pose with the group for a picture or just say "hello" is taken care of.

Maggie Rose, Peyton Parker, Casey Montana Rogers
Tickets: $15 Advance / $20 Door
Join us at The 120 Tavern & Music Hall for country sensation Maggie Rose on Thursday, May 1st! Atlanta and Nashville favorites Peyton Parker and Casey Montana Rogers open the show! Cool and confident, yet warm and approachable with a laugh that’s as melodic as the songs she sings, it’s difficult to look at Maggie Rose and not think that she was born under a very special star. And maybe she was. How else can you explain her journey from Potomac, Maryland—hardly a mecca for country music—to Nashville by way of storied record executive Tommy Mottola (Celine Dion, Mariah Carey)? Mottola wasn’t a friend, or even a family friend. More like a friend of a friend of a friend. But Maggie’s biggest supporter and business partner, Tom Natelli, who had encouraged and nurtured the young songbird’s talent early on, had the chutzpah to ask around until he found someone who knew someone, who knew someone, who lived next door to Tommy. The music executive was impressed enough to encourage Maggie to pursue her music, but since country wasn’t his forte, he equipped the aspiring star with a handful of contacts and enough information to make her way to Nashville. It didn’t take any persuading though. Singing was her dream. She stepped away from Clemson University, where she performed with a Bruce Springsteen cover band, and into her career with encouragement of her parents and Natelli. Why? The singer-songwriter smiles and simply says, “You can hear the story.” It’s that mindset and a healthy dose of diligence that kept Maggie in Nashville since the age of 19. Starry-eyed and a bit naïve, her first run at commercial success positioned her as a voice to be heard and gave her a foothold in Music City, but the songs weren’t quite what she needed. Even she admits, “I just wasn’t ready. I think that was the only difference between then and now is that I’m just ready. In fact, I’m chomping at the bit to get this album out. And before, I wasn’t excited about what I had to share yet. I was excited about being able to sing and do what I love, but I wasn’t totally connected to a body of work. I had singles here and there, but that doesn’t make an artist. I wanted to do something that people could latch on to, and I wanted to start a conversation with my music that people could be a part of.
