"If not for the slew of modern cars parked in the nearby meadow, it may seem like a time warp when eclectic string band Corn and the Colonels brings its lively batch of retro tunes to Saxapahaw's rustic farmers market. The quintet of acoustic alchemists cooks up a cohesive mix with guitar, bass, fiddle, banjo, accordion, washboard and kazoo—plus a pair of lead singers with the versatility to go from sultry jazz vocals to sassy Spanish. The Durham group injects its spirit into a number of dated styles, from old-time and ragtime to swing and jump blues, all spiced with a hint of zydeco and Latin rhythms."  Spencer Griffith, Independent Weekly

"Corn and the Colonels are “a young group who are embracing the string band tradition,” (Tim Duffy) said. Read more: The Herald-Sun - Strings required "  Cliff Bellamy, The Herald-Sun

"Corn and the Colonels recently performed at my friend's annual summer farm party to a crowd with varying tastes in music and ranging in age from 3 to 60 years. It was evident very early on in their performance that their style of music appealed to everyone. They are a very talented group and their sound is upbeat, unique, and just plain FUN! People are already asking if they can play at next summer's party! In addition to their musical talents, I would be remiss if I didn't mention what a pleasure it was hanging out with the band before and after their performance. They area great group of folks who were easy to work with and professional on every level."  Maggie Epps, Testimonial
