THE
LATEST: Beyond any news that normally concerns the program besides informing you
about the artists you hear on the show, an immediate concern has arisen.
As
I type this, I'm somewhat in debt with my bills. That debt has now included my monthly
rent. I'm without work and have not worked in months. There may be a financial
lifeline that was promised to me months ago. If it comes through,it buys a little
time. If not, I can be staring at eviction proceedings soon.
This
show must have a home. I must have a home. I've been without a paid job for months.
The show itself, despite its sponsorship does not actively generate income. Folks,
I intend for this change. Here's how:
This week I installed
a PayPal button at the home page and the main front page where the latest posts
are.Already, two sizeable donations have come in from two listeners, and I'm truly
thankful Your support goes toward paying my bills and helping me to continue to
live here and maintain the service of bringing you the latest in indie/underground/ito
you all.
Unless there is a fair exchange in place ($, barter),
I am no longer freely exchanging valuable info re referalls or bookings; likewise
for live show reviews, which I've documented on my site for 2 years.
Can
you imagine an extended period of time without Radio Crystal Blue? You'd likely
miss out on hearing when some of your favorite indie artists are playing and maybe
some facts about the album that you never knew. I convey this on my show every
week between segments. Now, how many other stations or podcasts do that, and maintain
a level of artistry within the segments?
Please consider
donating the amount of your choice if you love my show and care to listen. Even
if you're not a fan,at least consider sharing the wealth by sharing this new. My
work with this show is too precious and vital to let go of or be rid of.
