The Jupiter Tide
Rock / Heavy Rock / Progressive Metal
Fans, Friends, Family, and members of our Legion,
For now, the band is taking an 'Indefinite Hiatus', meaning there are no
activities with The Jupiter Tide for the forseeable future. As much as we
would like to perform a Farewell show for you guys, at this time it feels like it's
just not possible.....yet. At some point down the line, maybe we'll pick
up the mantle of the band and perform shows again, but we feel that other things
need to be explored.
In 2009 I sought a change in my life through music because my life was going nowhere.
I was then approached by two former members of my favorite local band, Tattermask,
and was told that they were starting a new project. I immediately jumped on
board. After a few weeks, The Jupiter Tide was formed.
It was a difficult road ahead, with many bumps in between then and now, and I've
had a blast every step of the way. I've gotten to know so many of you
as friends, and the band has opened my eyes to just how important the music scene
is in Charlotte. I couldn't name any local bands on one hand before joining
this group. And now most of you, I would probably name as Godparents for my
As with most things, they can't move forward in one direction for long without
some nudging. For however long it's been, the members of TJT realized
that they, including myself, wanted different things from the project. This
led to a little bit of friction that's always been corrected. However,
after a certain point, we all realized that the opposite directions we'd been
pulled in was each band member's inevitable destiny. All of us feel we
need to explore these new avenues of adventure-For example, Joey will be drumming
with a great band called Poor Man's Fame, Monte will be working with Alice and
Chains and Pantera tributes as well as other bands, and I will be singing my heart
out for a band called Something Clever, as well as pursuing a solo project.
While none of us wants to leave you, it seems this is our only avenue to tread at
this point. We have the most wonderful fans, which have become friends, which
have formed our family. The band stood on your energy alone, and the spirit
of it is only survived by all of you. We never thought we would get so far
with a little band from Charlotte belting it out in a storage unit. Because
of you, we have great songs, great memories, and the occasional beer :) We
love each and every one of you.
Until next time,
Ride The Tide.
".....The Jupiter Tide can put on a hell of a show. There was no room for error
in Jupiter Tide’s set on this night. The continuing mix of the vocal did come
into play but it didn’t really faze lead vocalist Adam Nelson and backing
vocal/guitarist Monte Anderson. Adam even took time to run off the stage twice to
try to motivate the crowd with fast energy. " Julian Safrit, Shutter 16 Magazine
"Its sound is the mutant
offspring of Megadeth and 30 Seconds to Mars, with blazing guitar harmonies set
afire by both lead-quality guitarists Monte Anderson and Brett Baker and dynamically
melodic vocals from singer Adam Nelson" Amanda Caines, Creative Loafing
