Hey everyone,

Gomez here coming at you live from the Internets. I wanted to take a quick second and share our pretty sweet show calendar and update you on the recording.

First the shows. We have shows to celebrate Thanksgiving, Ravens/Redskins football, Christmas, the Mayan Apocalypse, and for the first time ever, New Years Eve! I'm not going to share ALL of our shows here, but here are the highlights - for the full calendar, you can visit our Events section on our Facebook page at

Show Schedule (Highlights)

\m/ - Thanksgiving Eve - Wed, 11/21 - Sonoma's, Columbia, MD - 9:30pm - $5 cover

The biggest bar night of the year featuring $5 bombs. Bring the whole family, including the visiting out-of-towners, for a great night with friends.

\m/ - Redskins vs. Ravens - Sun, 12/9 - FedEx Field, Landover, MD - 10am - Free with game ticket

Come hang with SotR as we rock the pre-game show in the Bud Light Pavilion from 10am-12:30pm, and stay for the game at 1pm.

\m/ - Sons-mas + Post-Mayan Apocalypse Party - Sat, 12/22 - Sonoma's, Columbia, MD - 9:30pm - $5 cover

It's the end of the world as we know it, and we feel filthy! If you survive, come ring in the holidays with us at the 3rd annual SotR official holiday party at Sonomas.

\m/ - SotR New Years Eve Extravaganza - Mon, 12/31 - Perry's, Odenton, MD - 9pm-4am

Join us for our first New Years Eve show ever! Two clubs in one with the band upstairs and the DJ downstairs. Ridiculously low $25 cover gets you bottomless domestic draft beer* and rail drinks until 12, free light fare buffet, 1am continental breakfast and free champagne toast at midnight! Plan to rock your New Years Eve with SotR - there is no better value out there.

SotR is hard at work on our second studio album. We're anticipating a release party in Spring of 2013 - but details are pending on that. Currently, the band has almost completed tracking 8 songs, including some we have never played live before. We are simultaneously still in writing mode, and are putting finishing touches on another 3-4 new originals.

So, what can you expect from the new album? Will it be like our debut? In some ways yes, and in other ways not at all. The sound of the band has evolved and you're going to find a broader mix of influences on the new record. You're going to find some of our heaviest, most intimate, most quirky, most aggressive, and most soulful songs yet on this record. While the songs are unmistakeably SotR, the album will show more diversity and will include some unexpected surprises. That probably doesn't tell you very much, but it's all I got, folks.

We're planning for the album to be released simultaneously on CD and for download online, and we'll stream some samples for you in advance. For the most current updates on the recording process and the run-up to the release, follow us on Twitter (@Sonsoftheradio) or Facebook.

That's about all for now. if you have input or comments on what you'd like to hear out of the band, or just want to show some love, leave us a comment.

We'll catch you at a show very soon.
