Dear friends & fans ~

I am happy to announce that one of my poems 'Songs of the Soul' was featured in the UK today on Radio Wildfire! It's a monthy two-hour programme featuring poetry and spoken word. They mentioned my website and have already asked me to submit more material. So in case you haven't heard the recording yet, you can listen to it here by clicking on the album cover:

I also received a wonderful review of the CD 'During the Hours' on a music industry website called The Entertainment Bank. Here's an excerpt on 'Songs of the Soul':

“’Songs of the Soul’ is a plunge into an ocean of emotional colors, and the alto sax player on this cut never misses opportunities to express the leaps in time, place, and images of a very intimately soft spoken piece. The contrast of covering epic flows of intensity with the soft spoken voice is very interesting. The sax absorbs and reflects the intensity of the words, aptly helping to unleash the power of Frances’ poetic narrative.”

~ Michele Wilson-Morris, The Entertainment Bank

Also, I am playing my first show with the Ipanema Lounge Project!!!!!! The Ipanema Lounge Project is a professional musical ensemble from Los Angeles and plays compositions by the Brazilian composer Antônio Carlos Jobim. Their sophisticated interpretation of these songs of the 60’s, like Corcorvado or Dindi perfectly capture the mood of the time. On the same note, these jazz tunes are infused with a modern, easy-going, contemplative and seductive chill-out lounge feeling.

"Veering between Carole King and Barbra Streisand, this is very much a piano- dominated recording with Jeff Colella playing either acoustic or electric piano behind Frances rich and crystal clear vocals."  Maverick Magazine

"Livings shows a deep understanding of love, loneliness, passion and acceptance, and ably articulates every emotion in her songs. (...) She has a truly gifted approach in telling a story"  Cassandra Walker, The Entertainment Bank

"More than anything, The World comes across as a half-lit stage presentation for post-Beat hipsters grown weary of all the blare and squall of an overdriven mainstream, looking for literate but unorthodox fare and a chance to once again think while immersing in moody atmospherics. (...) thus, don't do anything else once you've tossed the disc on, or you'll miss more than you ever guessed was there."  Mark S. Tucker, The Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange
