Hi
Friends,
It’s been quite some time since I’ve
addressed any of you via our ReverbNation email list, so here is some news of our
latest escapades.
First, we have a brand new CD titled, “WE
ARE THE PEOPLE”. The final product landed on our doorstep on Feb.
10th. With all the effort that we put into it, Eli & I were just a little tuckered
out from the 3 month project, but are now ready to hit the road and share some of
our new music with all of you.

The first reviews are coming in now:
Ron Johnson of
the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville wrote an review HERE, and Dr. Bob wrote up a review on
the GotFolk! blog HERE.
One of the
songs on the album is “There Was a Time” that was written by the legendary
singer/songwriter, Tom Pacheco from Woodstock, NY. After receiving a copy of the
finished product, he wrote, “We Are the People” is a great album! Thank-you
for fighting the good fight! When I first played it, my first instinct was like
hearing a blue, clear river flowing with honesty and truth. I LOVE all the songs
and loved your treatment of “There Was a Time!”
There are
two other cover songs on the album which include “When I Die” that was
written by one of my biggest influences, the late Jim Ballew, and the final song
on the album is Pete Seeger’s “Quite Early Morning”
The
10 original songs include the upbeat title cut “We Are the People”;
Eli’s account of her lost heritage titled “I Am the Tribe Called Arawak”;
“Happy Jack”, that has an absolutely wonderful lead instrumental on
English Concertina by the renowned Cindy Mangsen; an acoustic blues honoring a Florida
bluesman titled “Willy Green Blues”; an account of Eli’s issue
with a landlord called “Small Box of Pictures”; the Roaring 20’s
Rag” sing-along; another historical account of the civil rights activist “Harry
T Moore”; the controversial “Dr. Kevorkian Blues”; a story-song
titled “The Real McCoy”; and a jug band sounding rant titled “Nobody’s
Listenin’”.
Besides Cindy Mangsen, Eli & I owe many thanks
to other musicians that comprise the “Florida Acoustic Segue Orchestra”
including Mark “Crocodile” Harris, Ron Spencer, Katie Waller, Brad Keeler,
Steve Rinker, Nancy Crockford, Raven Stands-Alone, Magda Hiller, Wyatt Hiller Wilson,
Ashley Marzullo, and Henry Tolan. Another accolade goes out to Kathy Ivers, who
again exceeded our expectations with her incredible talent, drawing the front cover
artwork.
You can download the original songs or buy a hard copy of the
entire album at CD Baby, or you can pick
up a signed copy at one of our upcoming shows.
We will be traveling around
Florida playing at festivals, churches, house concerts, and other listening room
venues until the end of May when we again participate at the Florida Folk Festival
in White Springs, and then it’s off on our yearly summer tour around the eastern
U.S.
SEE SCHEDULE BELOW.
We
still do have dates available as we travel, so if you are so inclined to book us,
or know of a venue that will support our music, please let us know.
