3 Kisses
Anchorage, AK Alternative / Party Punk
|
Summer is a busy time for music in Alaska with all sorts of
big outdoor events utilizing every bit of our long, summer daylight hours.
In the past month 3 Kisses had the honor of performing on base at Ft. Rich for our
troops, playing the Summer Solstice show Rockin' the Lot at Humpy's in Anchorage
and playing the Cold & Loud Anthology CD release show at The Anchor. The Cold & Loud compilation features
2 CDs of 27 Alaskan bands, the COLD CD being rock and the LOUD CD being
metal....all local music from the great white north. You can get a taste of
our scene up here by clicking the iTunes link below and you can get a brand new
track from 3 Kisses written by the northern line-up! We'd love to hear what
you think of our new song "Pick Me Up." We're writing lots of new
material, so you can expect a new release from 3 Kisses very soon. We hope you are having a great summer and have a Happy 4th! XXX, 3 Kisses COLD

"Alaska may seem like an unlikely place to launch a reality show about a party
punk band; yet 3 Kisses is going to give it their best shot. "Kiss Off," the band's
homegrown reality series, will focus on how a bunch of dedicated musicians balance
the crazy, fast-paced indie rock and roll world with the normal everyday world of
children, 9-to-5 jobs, school, and the occasional moose. And just to make it interesting,
they chose the "Little Station that could," a locally owned and operated Valley
channel, LMTV303, to capture the chaos. LMTV303, broadcasts on MTA's community-access
Channel 303; their programs also stream on Ustream and Youtube." Trish
Reis, Kiss Off TV
"“Lethal Love Addiction is
the first release since Tish became single again and many of the songs seem to reflect
the emotional roller coaster she’s gone through in this time. I’ve got
to say, a pissed-off emotional Meeks makes for some really good music….3 Kisses
pounds through 16 tracks in an hour of music for Lethal Love Addiction and it’s
a really fun listen. It really takes you full-circle on the relationship train.
I could see slamming a few beverages while watching their live show. Hopefully
soon we’ll all get that chance.”" Sean Claes, Notes From the Cubicle
"The songs are fun and
my vote for coolest line in a song is “I can’t forget your stupid, ugly
face!” ̄—Which is sung, not shouted, by the way—on the title
track “Lethal Love Addiction.” What got my attention was the sudden
octave jump right before the chorus. When have you heard Joan Jett do that with
one of her own songs? Track three, “Fly Away” begins with melodic use
of open chords. Then there’s the final track “Work Of Art” with
its classical piano riff carrying the song… Tish Meeks, who wrote all the
songs’ lyrics, has the ability to convey her feelings through the music in
a way that makes you feel like you really know her. These songs are written from
the heart and it really shows… This is definitely not your average punk band." Chris
