This is just a quick update to let you know that I am starting to book up more shows for the summer, including the fun and unusual opportunity to play at the Cathedral Green, Wells as part of the Jubilee celebrations, and my first festival booking with Farm Festival, in Bruton www.farmfestival.co.uk.

I also have been invited to play at The Croft, Bristol this Sunday coming. I am really particularly excited about this one, as the line-up is genuinely of a very high standard, and the venue is one I have hoped to play at for a long time. In order to get the best benefit from playing this show though, I need to show the promoters that I am capable of generating a bit of interest, and I am appealing to you all to make a special effort for this one, so that I can get more of these high calibre bookings in future. Jazz Morley, the headline is a nationally touring singer-songwriter with a significant following, check her out at www.jazzmorley.co.uk. Also supporting is Ryan Inglis www.ryaninglis.com who is one of the most talented guitarists in the area right now, and a good singer and writer to boot. One thing’s for sure: the audience will get their moneys’ worth! Please come along, and bring friends. You can buy a ticket now using the button in the latest news section of my website www.richmaya.co.uk, or by following this link: http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user/?region=gb_south&query=detail&event=501507&REFID=richmaya

In other news, I have started a blog. Those who know me well are aware that I don’t mind sharing an opinion, especially if it relates to something that really frustrates me. But I have always been wary of blogging, because while I do think I may have a point sometimes, I would hate to end up becoming one more of the many pontificating bores that are already out there taking themselves terribly seriously. Frankly, I didn’t think anyone would be that interested, but I have been encouraged by a third party to put something into writing and publish it. So you will now find a tab called “Just Maya ‘Pinion” at the top of my website pages, which I would tentatively encourage you  to click. Your feedback, whatever it may be, would be most welcome, and you can direct it to enquiries@richmaya.co.uk.
