Going Postal
On February 9th, 1950, a bill was passed which raised the rate of postal card rates
from one to two cents. Regular letter rates would stay at three cents. February
6th 2013 it was announced that 33 cents for a postcard and 46 cents for a letter
wouldn’t be enough to keep the post office open on Saturdays.
Hello! I’ve got just one show this
week and it’s at Skootr’s West in Freeburg, IL on Saturday February
9th. Same great food, drinks and service as the original Mascoutah location so come
on out.
My
winter hibernation is just about over and things will be picking up soon. I have
three dates next week- Crystal City on Valentine’s Day, Starview Vineyards
on Saturday the 16th and Flatland Rocks in Germantown, IL with the Floyd Duncan
Orchestra on Sunday February 17th.
I hope to see you again very soon, Bud
For
those of you who feel that your time would be better spent on other avocations than
reading these missives, I’ve got news for you. No. It wouldn’t. Now
if you insist on leaving you can click here but by golly it’ll be your loss.
