just wanted to update you all on the status of our upcoming CD as well as a show
coming up on December 23.
some of you might have read in recent weeks, we have continued the Feed The Muse
campaign for my CD "My Heroes Have Always Been Singers". To find
out the levels of contribution/pre-orders of the CD please go to http://www.feedthemuse.net/vivianlee.
As I have stated in the past 10% of the moneys left in the campaign as well
as 10% of the sale of CDs after release will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research
Foundation http://www.bcrfcure.org in memory of my mother Patricia Gipson who died
of this disease in 1988.
still have three songs left to record on the CD - Caravan, At Long Last Love and
Star Eyes. Jeff Clayton, who arranged the last two songs is on tour in Australia
and will be back in early December. Since he is the one who arranged these
tunes, it is only fitting that he should be there to oversee their recording in
the studio. Cover photos are being taken by area photographer Diane Mitchell
next week, then it is off to Unisette and Shauna, the graphics technician there
will work her magic as she has done on my three previous CDs to make a beautiful
and very artistic cover. The final mixing and mastering will be started in
late December and once that is done we will be sending everything to Disc Makers
to press and package. We are now looking at a mid-late January release.
Join us on Sunday December 23, 2012 for a Mid-Winter
Night's Dream with Cynthia Douglas, Cy Young and Vivian Lee, along with the Ron
Foggia on piano, Paul Klempau on bass, Jesse Hernandez on alto sax and Jeff Minnieweather
on drums. The evening will be filled with some great jazz, winter songs and
a few holiday favorites thrown in for a little holiday spice. (see flyer below for
details and reservation info)
