Raging
Sea is a band that fans compare to such diverse artists as: The Lumineers, Bright
Eyes, Bob Dylan, Mumford and Sons, The Beatles, The Cure, The Decemberists, Monsters
of Folk, The Chieftans, Johnny Cash, Trampled by Turtles, Jerry Garcia and others...
After a set, terms like folk, rock, Celtic, blues,and even funk are thrown around
by listeners. But whatever label is put on this band, their live show will always
challenge that label.

The
Raging Sea live show is often two hours or more, features 15-20 original songs,
and is highly improvisational. With a few exceptions, their songs are seldom performed
the same way from show to show, but the quality of musicianship is top-notch. The
band feeds off the energy of the room, the audience, and the night. At times Shawn
improvises new verses, and Justin and Curt provide the backdrop.

Raging Sea is one of Wichita's most prolific performers of
original music and one of the region's hardest working and most respected instrumental
ensembles. Since 2009, the band has played 100s of shows around central Kansas and
shows no signs of slowing down as they continue their "never ending tour"
of the region. Participants in the Raging Sea experience are immersed in music that
embraces a unique community of artists, writers, and like minded creatives who frequent
the band's shows.

Raging
Sea's five song Extended Play recording, "Raging Sea Live 2012 EP," was
recorded live in Wichita, Kansas at The Kiln, Music at the Hill, and Kirby's Beer
Store in the Autumn of 2012. It is available at www.reverbnation.com/ragingseaband.
The band is currently working on a follow up studio release.
