I am very excited about my new “live” album, Les Kerr As Is.
It was recorded on the WDVX FM “Blue Plate Special” radio show, a daily
concert series originating from the Knoxville, TN Visitors Center and broadcast
on WDVX FM and online. It has been a pleasure to perform for the great audiences
who attend the noontime concert broadcast.
The CD is called “As
Is” because I play all of the
songs on acoustic guitar with no band. It’s a good representation of my solo
shows and you’ll hear the introduction and interaction with Red Hickey, the
show’s delightful and gracious host. It was fun to chat with her, play some
old favorites and more recent songs, as well.
The official release date for the CD is August 1, but you can get it now at a lower price, only $12 including
postage, by filling out the form below and mailing it with a check before July 31. I’ll be glad to autograph it for you or someone
you may give this to as a gift. The only way to get autographed copies is by printing
the order form and sending a check. Online orders will not offer that option, so
I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity.
You’ll hear the songs and stories about the Magnolia Springs mail boat, The
All-American Truck Stop Cookbook, why Yogi Berra is one of my songwriting influences,
and other topics.
Remember, the deadline for this
pre-release offer is July 31,
so print the form, fill it out and mail with a check soon!

If so, to whom?
"Les Kerr’s greatest personal virtue – a ginormous heart –
beats steady in these smart, catchy songs. Listening to Les just makes you happy,
like watching a geyser of good cheer. He’s never sounded better in his career
… and neither has Americana boogie." — Charles McNair, Paste Magazine, and author of Pickett’s
Charge, a novel
"Les Kerr has struck Cajun gold with The Americana Boogie,
a delightful mix of Louisiana gumbo, Mississippi sunshine and Mardi Gras merrymaking.
Les has made tremendous strides with his artistry, but more importantly, he brings
an authentic, uplifting sound that makes listeners smile. Every Mardi Gras season,
I long to return to my hometown of Mobile to celebrate. Les's latest album takes
me there." — Chuck Whiting, Publicist, author and composer, Nashville, Tenn.
Christmas on the Coast: (The Jordanaires) go a long way towards giving a real old-fashioned
Christmas feel to these simple country tunes laced with a hint of Zydeco, especially
Kerr’s charming original title track and John Hartford’s ‘On Christmas
Eve.’" — OffBEAT Magazine, New Orleans, Louisiana
