It's a collision of singing, dancing and rapping all night.
At new DIY space, THE LAB, in Bushwick, I'll be playing a set of originals
with friends Mia Pixley, Julie Delano, Leslie Graves and Adam Amram
on drums. This will be the current dish of raps and wordy, soul-like originals.
I have a song called Girl Pool that is not about swimming, but inspired by Cat's
Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut.
But
I've also loaned my body to Nan Turner of Nan Turner and The One Night Stands, fresh from Kansas.
I'm her dancer and doo-wop girl along with Julie Delano.
Then I turn colors and get golden for Julie Delano's GOLD (Julie, Leslie Graves, Christy Davis and me).
AND Angela Carlucci aka Little Cobweb will be starting off
the night with her deceptively delicate, yet gripping songs. They don't call
her Little Cobweb for nothing.
