see the Hip Hop Book Club. It's all hip hop inspired by a different work of
literature every month. Tomorrow's show is inspired entirely by the works

24th, 7pm, The Hip Hop
Book Club presents the work of Edgar Allen Poe at Nuyorican Poets Cafe
in the East Village. Beatboxer, emcee Kid Lucky
and Bushwick Book Club founder, Susan Hwang,
host and curate this literature-inspired, all hip hop event with performers including
Arjun Gupta (from TV's "Nurse Jackie"), D-Cross,
Tomasia Got-Flow,
Spiritchild, Atlas, Susannah
Pryce, Adventures
of Kaila & The Kid and Mia Pixley w/ Susan Hwang
interpreting Edgar Allen Poe through hip hop. Dust
off that old raven costume or come in your most House of Usher shoes. Performers
will all be in their Poe-est garb. Audience costumes are optional, but highly
encouraged.
