To help celebrate Paul McCartney's 70th birthday, June 18th, check out our new single,

"Mull of Kintyre" by Charlie Gracie & Clutch Cargo.

Special thanks to Sir Paul and MPL Communications.

Partial proceeds to benefit the Philadelphia Police and Fire, Pipes & Drums Band.

Featuring special guests; Birdie Busch, The Orlons, The Hooligans Luke Jardel, Philadelphia Police and Fire pipers, and Skip Denenberg.

Why this song...
George; "We chose the McCartney single for two reasons, first, it features bagpipes and we are trying to help raise funds for the Police & Fire Pipes & Drum band. Secondly, as a fitting tribute to Sir Paul, we chose Philly R&R pioneer, Charlie Gracie to cover McCartney's hit since Sir Paul covered Gracie's 1957 hit, 'Fabulous' and this year is the 35th anniversary of the original release of 'Mull of Kintyre'."

"Local Philly band Clutch Cargo got their start in 1999, formed by multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter, filmmaker and music archivist George Manney. Manney has long been a supporter of and has played in the Philly music scene having worked with Robert Hazard, Beru Revue and many other bands. In 1986 George started The Last Minute Jam @ J.C. Dobbs, a weekly institution on Tuesday nights, and the longest running Rock-Jam session in the history of the Philly music scene. in fact, you may have seen him recently playing drums with Tommy Stinson when he was in town. Here’s a few songs from Clutch Cargo, that fit squarely in to the ambient/electronica world of music, including two new songs, “”In The Park,” and “Bicycle Detour,” and “Within Without” from their 2002 release."  Bruce Warren, WXPN - My Morning Download
