Boban Marković is the king of Serbian brass band music, and he has reigned through decades of musical transition, much of which he has led.  In 1997 he released Hani Rumba, his first album; it's not quite the sound he became known for internationally - it's still a little too village for that - but it's a shockingly beautiful, effortlessly virtuosic, eternally funky recording. Slavic Soul Party! pays tribute to Mr. Marković and the Serbian brass tradition by playing (to the best of our abilities) the entire album, this Thursday, at Joe's Pub in NYC.  This concert will likely sell out, so don't wait to get tickets... last month many of our fans got turned away, and we don't want that to happen to you!

See you soon!

"Of all the NYC dance bands that draw on Eastern European music, Slavic Soul Party! is the coolest."  TimeOut NY
