Slavic Soul Party! returns to Richmond VA and Washington DC this weekend...
Balkan Funk will again blast out of the back of Balliceaux on Friday night (Richmond),
and then shimmer through the Kennedy Center on Saturday with a free show at 6pm
(Washington DC). If you're in DC and want the club experience, come down to
Tropicalia for one set at 9pm for only $5.
We're oozing new music!
Duke Ellington's Far East Suite has us totally excited – we'll be playing
the entire suite (in our own suite way) at Joe's Pub on Thur March 28. This
is the only scheduled performance of the entire suite, and the music is amazing.
Don't miss it!
Coming up this spring: a tour of Maine (including a prison
concert), sets of Deerhoof and Boban Markovic at Joe's Pub, and another multi-week
workshop with youths in juvenile detention in the Bronx, creating new music together.
Great stuff, so stay tuned.
