Hello lovely otherworldly ones,
What
a whirlwind! The days have gone by so much faster than we could have dreamed
and now there are only 16 days until Brief Awakening moves to SC. Luckily
there are two more opportunities for you to come party with us, sing with us, drink,
and dance with us.
On Saturday Dec. 8th Kara
and I will be sharing the art that we have created over the past five years together
and playing some brief Awakening tunes too at The Meeting Point in JP from 3:00-6:00.
Also playing will be the magnificent Natali Freed who creates deep and evocative,
acoustic harmonious tunes. This event is completely free and there will be
food and drinks too.
We
will be playing our final show in New England Tuesday Dec. 18th at 9:45PM.
That show will also feature the exciting sounds of Alternative Riot, Amber Ladd,
and more. As a special gift from the heart for you, we will be giving out
a four song EP of never before recorded Brief Awakening songs; Give, Silent
Audience, Beloved Lie, and Lizzie. This show may be your only opportunity
to get this limited release EP. We are spending every free moment working
on it in Leva Boy Studios using pristine 70's gear. Recording
on tape, let me tell you, is hard and beautiful work. It really captures that
crisp authentic sound but you have to do PERFECT takes.... My goodness. I
think this will be our best sounding recording yet
I cannot express how much our New England friends mean to us
and how much we love you. At our last show, I fear I shall cry. Brief Awakening
started in 2008 as many bands do, at a house party. Since then we have
played over 100 shows all over boston, the North Shore, NH, and Providence.
We have played festivals, venues, more house parties, and radio shows and recorded
a full length album. None of it would mean a thing with out your smiling faces
in the crowd and your shining ears really hearing us. Thank you, thank you,
thank you. You are a part of it all. When we are making music in the
South you will still be a part of it, and when we come back here to tour in the
future you will still be what makes it possible. I cant wait to see you again.
