Dear Folks:
I
was inspired by the gentle honest folk music of the generation that I was on the
tail end of, the hippies, and their revolutionary ideals of love and peace. I got
into music because I wanted to play songs that could in some small way help heal
the world. I haven't lost that feeling over the years even though it wasn't the
quick fix I thought it was going to be back in the day. But now more than ever,
I believe we are all one, and that to love each other is to love ourselves
as well. To forgive our "enemies" is to forgive ourselves. I feel that
we are all connected, all the people in this world who have every lived and who
ever will live. I don' t believe this life is the end, but somehow we go on and
there is a great mystery prize and that love is truly the answer, and that what
gives our soul life is love, and that part of us never dies.
I have to admit, many times over the years I have thought,
"Why am I doing this music stuff? This is crazy and there's so much going
on, so many artists out there, so much music, and what's really the point?"
Then I would get a letter or email from a fan, or someone comes up to me after
a show and tells me how much my music meant in their life. It's you folks who keep
me going and it's you who I do this for. So I want to say thank you from my heart
and soul. You are the reason I have been able to do what I love. Thanks for hanging
in there with me!
I wish you all a
blessed Thanksgiving and peaceful holidays and may all your hearts be filled with
gratitude for all the blessings our lives bring us and hope for all the great mysteries
of love yet to unfold.
Love
& Peace from another old hippie,
Laurie
