Greetings!
This
issue, im gonna do something different. Im gonna just talk about the very special
St Pattys day show coming up on Marrch 15 at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga.
This
is a show i've been dreaming of doing for years now, and it has finally come together.
First
off my friends, and a great Celtic rock band O'Craven will be opening, then we have
some Irish dancers from the Sandra Green school of Irish dance performing some "Riverdance"
numbers ( they will also be joining us onstage as part of our set). The we will
do some very special numbers, many new songs. Some as part of our tribute to Irish
rock legends Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy and Van Morrison and we will also be introducing
some new material for our blues/rock show which will probably be featured on the
next CD.
Heres a promotional video for the event http://youtu.be/emsSg7sfDwQ
Tickets are just $20.00, heres a link
to purchase www.mountainwinery.com/st-patty.
I will be doing a small segment in the middle
of our "Celtic" set as a solo acoustic mini set. One of the songs is a
special tribute to Gary Moore, one of my biggest heros, who sadly passed away Feb
2012. He died of a heart attack while on a tour break just before he was scheduled
to go into the studio and record a new Celtic rock album. The new songs for the
album were in the works and there is some live footage of them.
The song im talking
about ,"where Are You Now", was about how sad Gary still was about his
friend Phill Lynnot's (founder of the band Thin Lizzy) death. After listening to
the clip it was obvious to me he hadnt finished writing the song as there was only
1 verse, so I wrote another verse to it. Mine, talking about how sad I am that Gary
had passed. So theres an inside story the gen. public wont be privy too.
The venue itself, the Mountain
Winery. is AMAZING and a perfect setting to unleash this show at. Huge and extravagent
and just ooutside of San Jose in Saratoga, nestled in the Santa Cruz mntns. They
will have a wonderfull menu that night and be featuring green beer, a longstanding
St Pattys day tradition.
Yes I will be wearing my kilt lol. The regular MOB
band lineup will be bolstered by Robbie Benson on keyboards and the dancers will
join us on a couple numbers.
The whole show will be professionally video taped and I hope
to release it later as a live DVD.
I cat say enough about how special and amazing this night is
gonna be. You dont want to miss this one. And i do need to ask 1 favor, well maybe
2.
Please
buy your tickets now as the venue needs to see significant advance ticket sales
or they might cancell it, and 2, please repost-spread the word -tell your friends.
