Well folks,

This Thursday night I am launching a 4-day tour to Portland, Hood River, Bend and Blodgett (outside Eugene) with a side project that St. Louis-based guitarist/producer Teddy Presberg and I have been working on over the last month. These tunes are totally different than anything you've heard The Great Salt Licks and I do. Teddy recently moved back up to Portland and is flying up his organ trio from St. Louis for the tour. These guys cook! The night will be very diverse musically, spanning folk, roots, and a weird combo of Rock/Soul/Trance that will make you want to boogie.

Each night will start off with some nice duo folk stuff from songwriter Billy Shaddox out of Salt Lake City.

Then I'll do a set with Teddy and the organ trio will backing me up on several bew tunes I've been writing up in the bus, plus a few GB standards. The GB set will have a different, churchier vibe given Teddy's guitar style and the organ player's nasty chompy womp. Then Teddy and the Resistance Organ Trio will bust out their funk/soul/rock/groove/trance set and I will sing vocals for a bunch of their tunes.

So come out down for some rockin' groove-oriented 80's dance party 70's soul licks.....we may even throw some Led Zepplin in there!

Here's a teaser of a Teddy + GB tune off his album Apocolypse Yesterday

Here's link to Teddy & the organ trio's take on some Zepplin tunes

"There's more to the Portland roots-music scene than an attic full of quaint old instruments and a Luddite's disdain for amplification. Filtered through the fine musical sensibilities of performers and writers like Garett Brennan and his super-group The Great Salt Licks."  Mark Steighner, Rediviva Magazine

"Hotter than a July day indeed! These are songs for our moment in time--and for changing our time"  Bill McKibben, author and activist

"Storyteller, songteller, fictioneer, poet, troubadour, wandering balladeer...a hymn to and a cry for the American West."  Brian Doyle, Portland Magazine
