I'm very happy to be opening for friends Stella Blue's Band at Garcia's at
the Capitol Theatre in Portchester, NY this coming Wednesday, June 26 at 8pm.
Capitol Theatre occupies a special place in my heart, not only for the legendary
Dead shows of yore, but for the experiences I had there as a teenage hippie. I saw
my first Phish show there (1990) as well as countless others, including Blues Traveler,
Max Creek, New Riders, Johnny Winter, New Potato Caboose, and the list goes on and
Stella Blue's Band is finishing up their very successful
month-long residency on this night and I appreciate them asking me to join the evening!
Gonna be a great night! I play from 8-9, sharp.
The Capitol is VERY easy
to get to from NYC, there's a train station right outside the theatre!

who is not only inventive, he's inspiring. A musician's musician, Benfield is a
must-see act for anyone who mistakenly thinks solo artists are limited. Benfield
will blow that preconception right out of your mind.

and disarmingly matter-of-fact, Garrin's lyrics present a clean, pure line and a
distilled, no-nonsense sensibility. Those same qualities cross over into the instrumental
arrangements of his songs, which are quietly inclusive of many different styles."
