Americana / Blues Rock / Southern Rock
Dear Family, Friends and Fans,
It is with great pleasure that I write to you today about our most recent release
- a new single called
"Ride a Rocket" This marks the second release by The Staylyns, and we are very proud of the
new tune! You may wonder if the tune is about NASA. It's not, but there is a
story behind it.
Way back in May of 2012, Suzy and I bought ourselves a couple of electric bikes from
local electric bike shop, Rocket Electrics. They promptly put us to work doing
"Live Music Capitol of The World" tours through our beautiful city on
electric bikes, and we sold more CDs on these tours than at all of our other shows
combined! It is a great partnership with a great local business and even better
At the start of this year, Suzy had a great idea to write a new song in honor of
our Rocket Electric experiences. She came up with "Ride a Rocket" and
fortunately for me, she let me help write a line and some of the music. We started
playing it for our tours and the response was great - people wanted a copy of the
new song to commemorate their new experiece.
So we got together with my good friend, music producer Rob Seidenberg, to record
a rousing rendintion of the song in a classic Americana style. The finished product
was released at the first of this month and has just recently gone live on all your
favorite music hosting sites. This is a digital-only release, so you can only get
this song online, but we want you to have it, listen to it, memorize it and come
sing it with us at our next show. So make sure to click your prefered shopping link
below to find the song on iTunes, Amazon, or our best money maker, CDBaby. Whichever
platform you choose, please buy a copy and come sing it with us soon at an upcoming
gig. You can even listen to the song in it's entirety on our website before you purchase your very own copy.
Speaking of gigs, we are back at it in Austin this Saturday at the Mueller Cafe and
Patio, at the new 51st St. HEB, from 1pm-2:30pm. So if you're in Austin this
weekend and wanna come hang out with us and hear the new tune from the stage, please
join us. Next weekend, we will be back at Junior's First Friday Live, and First
Saturday will be on the Gulf Coast singing at our favorite amusement park, The Galveston
Island Historic Pleasure Pier. You can find all the necesary links for our upcoming
live events in this email and our website. Please visit us, and we'll
rock with y'all again very soon!
Rocket On Y'all!

"There were plenty of other musical favorites at 10/20, including the Staylyns
(from Austin) who attracted a sizable gathering of spectators (and lingering runners)
at their stage." Wish, Run 1020
"The Staylyns entertained the Main Street
crowd with a superb mix of cover tunes and originals." JOHN SPEASMAKER,
