Hey All,
I've not emailed in sooo long...but I
wanted to email now that I am out of church early today. I'm sure everyone is headed
to watch the Super Bowl...so I'll make this brief.
I was thinking today
about my Southern transition, and how I am thoroughly enjoying it, but also realize
it took me a while to a minute to get over a certain hump. What was the hump? Well,
it had nothing to do with me, but with my relationships. That hump was grief. I
realize grief is dealt with differently, so I wanted to encourage you on three things
you'll experience during transition, and three ways to respond.
1.
When God tells you to go...GO...but know that you'll experience grief
from the relationships. In addition, you'll have strength from knowing you're being
obedient. Response: When He says Go...Live in the moments...don't rush through the grief, but allow
it; then trust God for the rest. Easier said than done though..so be prepared. I
can't tell you how because I don't have the answer.
2. People
will deal with their own grief differently. It was so strange because
I didn't realize how broken certain people were. Many create arguments, and situations
to be angry so that for them it would be better to let go. Don't judge them, it's
another way people deal with guilt. Others were genuine in their responses, and
I appreciated their honesty as well. Response:
Don't focus on other people, or feel guilty. Many times
we happen to be in relationship with people that have been hurting for years...and
moments of change bring out the best and worse in some. When your time of change
(success or trial) reveals unhealthy or hurtful things from another...God gives
us wise ways of drawing boundaries. Period. Love them still. In transition, you
may lose alot, unfortunately including relationships, but when God's replenishing
begins...it's overwhelmingly incredible!
3. In the end (Or
the beginning Really)...You'll start to see and experience ALL the
doors and people that had been waiting on you to make the decision to go! I LOVE THIS!
I could have never imagined some of the moments that I've had at this point...so
just remember...many times the GOD of faith that we serve...will ONLY respond
to your faith. So He's often waiting on us. Response: ENJOY the Journey with
God, and don't forget Him as He begins to expose you to beautiful moments, answered
prayers, and unexpected miracles.
May your 2013 be filled with the Aww
of God~ ~LaSundra
