Autumn has offficially arrived. I'm wearing fleece for my daily walk and
the honey locust and maple trees are dappled with yellow and a hint of amber.
Hugs to everyone who came to our house concert at the end of September. Melissa Greener,
Michael McNevin & I had a great time playing for y'all. It was a beautiful
afternoon with amazing music, friends, and food.
Tomorrow I head up to Auburn to play at the grand opening celebration of the
Downstairs Gallery. This is a wonderful space that will host in-gallery community
events such as small shows for emerging artists, card shows for shelter adoption,
card trades and sponsorships for Breast Cancer Awareness, a "Santa Shop"
for underprivileged kids, as well as a scholarship fund for kids to take art lessons
who couldn't otherwise afford them.
At the end of the month I'll join the local Ukulelians for the Ukuleles
show in Ben Lomond (California). My friend Laura Williamson
will sing some sweet vocal harmonies with me while our husbands play lead guitar
(Greg Spear) and bass (Clark Williamson). This will be a fun afternoon of music
benefiting the Santa Cruz Mountain Arts Center. Check out the lineup and details on
the poster below; there will be some jam time too!
