Dear Friends and Fans, Before we wax poetic about Friday's 15th anniversary show - "a last-minute
triumph to rival any staged in New York this year" (New York Music Daily) -
we must talk turkey. We are trying to finish our next record, English Dream,
and we need your help! A few weeks ago we launched a fundraising campaign. Then
we were interrupted by a hurricane and two show cancellations. Now the campaign
has only two more weeks to go! To read more and watch
a video about the campaign please go to our Indiegogo page where a donation can
be made: www.indiegogo.com/spottiswoode
There are a variety
of rewards. For a free pre-release download of the CD it's now just $10 - what you
would pay anyway but we would receive the money directly when we really need it.
Rewards at higher levels include signed CDs, album credits, posters, secret tracks, a print of the New Yorker illustration
of the band, our wedding album, art by Kevin Cordt our trumpeter, house concerts
and commissioned songs. It is hard to
convey how difficult it is to hold a 7-piece band together for 15 years and to create
new work. We rely, to a greater degree than you may think, on your support. Talking of which our twice rescheduled 15th anniversary
show at St. John's Lutheran Church was a huge success thanks to so many people's
help! The church was packed, stacks of clothing were donated to hurricane relief,
our volunteers were amazing, Axel Schwendt provided a magnificent baroque organ
introduction to the opening song from the balcony, and our dear friend Freddie Katz
supplied miraculous sound. We played two long celebratory sets and earned a stellar
review from New
York Music Daily. Read it here: newyorkmusicdaily.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/spottiswoode/ Huge thanks to everyone who came out, to everyone who helped
and to everyone who has supported us over the last 15 years! Happy Thanksgiving! Spottiswoode & His Enemies ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WILD GOOSECHASE EXPEDITION can be purchased at www.cdbaby.com/cd/spott7 or downloaded at iTunes.

"Nothing short of transportive." Steve LaBate, Paste Magazine "Not
only one of the best albums of 2011 but one of the best of the decade." (Wild Goosechase
Expedition) Lucid Culture"Nothing short of remarkable
and after a dozen or more spins guaranteed on my year-end list of favorite albums.”
(Wild Goosechase Expedition) Jeffrey Sisk, In Tune "Spottiswoode
is a musical tightrope walker, hovering between styles without a safety net. A wordsmith
with an immaculate sense of timing, this set of his songs can stand up against Randy
Newman and open the ears of fans of Rufus Wainwright." (Piano 45) Here Comes The Flood"New York-based
septet Spottiswoode & His Enemies is a swirling cocktail of indie-rock, folk,
country and even big band music. The real entertainment, however, lies in the songs
and their clever arrangements." (That's What I Like) WNYC, Soundcheck with John Schaefer
