Dearest, dearest friends!!!

Long time, no, eh?  Weeeee!!!  I have been on such an amazing, challeging, fabulous adventure!!!  This musical theatre business, has got me by my tail feathers, and I am loving EVERY minute of it!  I get to sing, dance, act, interact with amazing creative people. help build props, paint, design, giggle...well, I could go on and on....

With that said, I am delighted as peach pie to announce the new production I have had the pleasure of being cast in!  We open TONIGHT (eek!)!!!  This IN-YOUR-FACE musical melodrama is filled with audience participation, 50's style sock hop music, is jam packed with chorography and it's...hilarious!!!  We will be serving root beer floats and goodies!  The show only lasts, roughly, 50-55 minutes, but it will be an unforgettable, ear to ear smiles, adventure!  Won't you join us!?!?  I hope so!!!

Much much love and light to you all!

Written and directed by Adam Whitney

The setting is the late 1950’s, early 1960’s. The Simple Town diner has 24 hours to raise the money it would take to stay open. The townspeople band together to throw a sock hop and raise the money. Unfortunately, they all have different ideas for the theme of the sock hop. This show is a fast paced melodrama with music, dance, comedy and audience participation.

"One true sign of a good entertainer is a demostrative ease of diversity. This is to say, you can place them in any context, and they’ll do what entertainers are meant to do: They stun, they stand out, and they shine. This is a talent. This is something that can be fine-tuned and nurtured over the years, but it is not something that can be taught. It’s like they say: You either got it, kid, or you don’t. For local singer-songwriter Lacey Mattison, this is how her journey has been defined."  Marvin Gonzalez, Reno News and Review

"Reno's BEST albums of 2010: "#5. Nothing Like a Dame, "Nothing Like a Dame." Canary-voiced Lacey Mattison proved songwriting chops on solo recordings but with four hot players behind her, exuberant sensuality takes hold. A half-dozen spirited pop-rock-folk-jazz songs (all but one by Mattison, the other by bassist/singer Gia Torcaso), range from hormone-tickling to sweetly seducing. Available on iTunes. Hot track: "All Afternoon.""  Mike Sion, Reno Gazette Journal

"Nothing Like a Dame’s formidable live sets are raucous, amped up, booty shaking affairs."  Oliver Ex, Reno Tahoe Tonight
