I hope all of you on the East coast are hanging in during this cold winter!
And for my warm weather friends out there, we envy you!!!
Many of you have kindly been asking, “Laura, when are you playing?!”
As I settle back in to Boston, I am happy to announce a budding collaboration
with my friend, singer and songwriter, pianist and percussionist Jodi Heights
. I first met Jodi a few years ago
when we were both teaching private lessons, and the beauty of her voice always gripped
me from the other room.
Jodi and I will both be work-shopping new or unrecorded material at a beautiful house
concert, in Arlington, MA Friday March 7th
you have never been to a house concert, it makes for a very soulful evening and
offers a unique way to connect directly with the artist and music while enjoying
community – and food! SEATING IS LIMITED TO 30 SO EMAIL SANDI
to reserve a seat!
Proceeds will go to Room To Read
which focusing globally on “literacy
and gender equality in education.”
When I was a kid, I attended “Test Screenings” of television shows before
they aired. Networks wanted audience feedback before they officially aired
the show. Jodi and I are hoping to take audience participation in this direction.
As we work shop new material, we may call on you to be the “test audience”
helping us with your opinions of which songs to record or which resonated with you.
If any of you on the East Coast would like to host a house concert of your own,
feel free to contact me or Jodi to book one. They are great fun and offer
a very meaningful way to hear new music and interact with the artists.
