Mixing Update
We're in the final stages of mixing, locking it all together,
balancing the parts out and tracking down any last errant frequencies.
Mixing this album has been a massive undertaking; a few things
we are trying to blend are heavy down-tuned guitar riffs, subtle Jazz sections,
Jazz guitar, bass and piano solos, Jayson's drumming (ranging from intense machine
gun like kick drums shooting out streams of 32nd notes to graceful, ghost-noted
Jazz beats) and the traditional Altera Enigma electronica.
Not an easy task, so there is no rushing it. Even if we wanted
to we couldn't do it quickly! So we are taking it slow here, which is frustrating
as we are so close to completion, but rushing here would wreck all we've worked
on so far.

Album Title Released
We're happy to announce that the title for the new album is
“Angular Momentum”.
There are a few reasons we chose this title. In physics, Angular
Momentum is the measurement of rotational momentum of an object (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Introduction_to_angular_momentum
) and interested me as I was writing the album because I wrote the music while reading
about black holes and stellar evolution (topics that come up through the whole album),
and these ideas were at the forefront of my mind while I wrote.
Secondly, the music on the CD has “Angular Momentum”;
the songs have a lot of movement, direction and, heavy, momentum. And the
rythmic syncopations, extended and outside harmony and vast range of dynamics can
cetainly feel angular at times.
And thirdly, it continues on with our album titles starting
with A. Not hugely important, but consistant if nothing else.
