Country / Rockabilly / Roots
I've had a few church going friends and family express that they are
sort of uncomfortable when I sing the song "Your Mom" with such glee each
time it's requested. So, in response to that I thought I would explain why I proudly
sing the song in this new blog post here... http://adifferentnote.wordpress.com/2013/08/12/why-i-proudly-sing-your-mom/
I've been putting together all the details on the project I hope to have finished
by early 2014. In Nasvhille there is a famous saying; "It all begins with a
song". I had the bumper sticker and I never thought anything different than
that until recently. I started thinking about it and it seems like there are so
many songs, but not near as many good stories.
So the premise of the new album is this;
it all begins with a story, and ends with a song. I want to build my career on that
foundation and connect with the stories of our lives. I believe we all have a great
story but sometimes we don't really see it as something special so we never tell
it. My prayer is that through this next project, the listener will think about all
the little ways he or she impacts people and how great of a gift life is. Whether
you are spending your life working, loving, brokenhearted, laughing, serving, or
whatever you are doing; remember that you are living out a story that will be your
legacy. We only get one.
I am trying not to take mine for granted, which is why
I am doing this album.

"Adam Pope’s The America That I Know EP opens with almost two minutes of
historical moments recorded during pivotal times in the United States. From there
Adam rolls into the first song, “The America That I Know.” Having written
all the songs, Adam delivers a heartfelt performance on the material crafted from
his beliefs and thoughts about America. “This Song’s For The Man”
will resonate with people across the country." Brenda Madden, Country Entertainment USA
"Adam Pope is more
than just another country songwriter from the south. He creates music that I think
people of this genre have been craving for a while now. Progressive, but traditional.
It is easy to tell that Adam has been influenced by the country greats, and he does
them justice with his songs." Paul Ruth, "The Independent Music Scene"
"A little country,
a little rockabilly, a little roots, a little humor, a little love, a little lonely,
ALOT of entertainment!" Steve, "Overheard in the alley of my mind"
