MY BIRTHDAY SHOW/PARTY
After my last Blog and mailing, SO many of my family and
friends said they wanted to come to my 60th Birthday Show/Bash that we
are nearly full up before I’d even had the chance to put out the details to
my mailing list.
But, there is still some room left, so anyone else
who would like to come who HASN’T already RSVP’d get back to me as soon
as possible at the email address provided, we will add you to the guest list until we are at capacity
for the room.
It would be great if everyone who’s enjoyed a show
of mine, allowed me to send my emails to them, and been so supportive of my current
musical journey could be there to see me hit my 60’s (I’m hittin’ ‘em hard!), but I’m
going to enjoy seeing whoever can be there, and hope to see more of you as 2012
packs up and 2013 moves in.
The DATE is
November 17th, Saturday night, 7:00pm
The LOCATION is THE MAYFLOWER CLUB, 11110 Victory Blvd., North Hollywood, CA 91606. There will
be food and wine provided, and a full no-host bar.
PLEASE RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.orgTell us your name (in case
it isn't obvious from your email), how
many are coming, and include
your phone number.
don’t be offended if I have to tell you that we’re full up. The place where we’re doing the show is a
charming old social club, originally for WWII British ex-pat alter kockers, but has morphed into a watering hole for Anglophiles
of all stripes, featuring British Pantos, bingo, and an old wooden bar , imported from
a pub in England, and sporting what is purported to be a cigar burn from Errol Flynn. It
actually used to be a synagogue (shouldn’t all synagogues be places where you can get wasted?). It’s a cool space, and we have it all to ourselves.
In other news, a couple of weekends ago I attended and performed at FAR-West; the regional version of the much larger Folk Alliance. I will write more about that in a subsequent blog, but suffice to say,
I was there with some of the finest songwriter/singers in the land, and the fact that I was able to hold my own amongst them
was a humbling and invigorating experience.
Oh, and I got kissed by Barry McGuire, but that’s a story for another time.
Happy birthday to me.
