The Elixirs

  Howdy

It's been a while since we have sent out an e-mail to all of our friends, and we thought before the heavy spring and summer schedule hits we would send YOU and update.  Booking is going great, looks like we are heading into another awesome year!  Through out the winter we have been spending a lot of time writing new songs and bringing Dave the Dudeist our newest member up to speed on drums.  Dan has been on a roll lately with writing and we have a lot of raw, real, ripping, originals to share with you!  Preliminary planning is underway to record another full length CD, we hope to be back in the studio in the fall laying down tracks.  Our next CD will be released with an Independent Label, yes we have found a home for our music, expect an official announcement soon, we are fired up to be on a killer Independent label with a bunch of really awesome like minded bands!

Please take a moment to encourage everybody you know who digs our music and what we do to Sign up for e-mail updates right here on Reverbnation, and to like us on facebook!  The show schedule is listed below, come on out to a show, and make sure you take a moment and come up to the members and say hello, you help us keep this thing rolling and we want to meet you!  We have some awesome shows already booked, and a ton more we are working out details on as we speak!

We "The Elixirs" appreciate your support, and will keep these e-mails down to about one a month because we respect your time!  YOU Better order a "Long Gone CD" if don't already have one, we are getting some really positive reviews on it, and we are still very proud of our first full length CD!

We hope to see you all at a show in 2013!

"Their album, Long Gone, starts with “Water and Bread,” which will knock you out of your boots. The title track salutes Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, and the Dead Kennedys at the same time. They, like me, have a serious crush on psychobilly girls, as is evidenced by the song “Tits Deep.” The drums are wicked on “Cry for Me,” and the band swings like the best honky-tonk bands on “Door of Freedom.” The Elixirs make no attempt to hide their love of metal and doom rock. “17-12,” “Soul,” “Cowboy Rot,” and “Sea of Lies” let them flex their Danzig muscles and “Torn Rose” would be at home on any decent metal album. There are good drinking songs, too. “Misery,” “Standing in the Rain” (with its great bass), and “This Kind of a Mood” will make you want to raise a glass. “Loser” is a song that will make you raise a glass and then possibly smash it over your head as it kicks into serious rock. If you like psychobilly laced with doom and meta" — Nik Havert, Outlaw Magazine

"With a re-release via the excellent Texas independent Psycho A-Go-Go Records, Long Gone the debut album from Indiana cowpunk/psychobilly band The Elixirs returns to exhilarate and exhaust the world with its riots of passion driven energy fuelled rock n roll. The release is a nineteen track bonanza of contagious eager to devour slices of often bruising, occasionally provoking, and always thrilling adventure, the songs seeded in the devilry of horror, outlaw infamy, and salacious rock n roll roguishness with an impossibly infectious temptation from start to finish across the whole album." — ringmaster, The Ringmaster Review

"I really enjoyed that this band has such a great and classic sound! I'm thinking they should be featured on a soundtrack for a Tarantino double feature! Really great rock n roll that you can easily sit and listen to while you dick around on Facebook, or drink 15 beers and get a little rowdy in the bar jamming out to it! I love versatility in my music! I always have some music playing, but I'm not always jamming it over PA's! These guys were immediately starred on my Spotify playlist! I highly recommend you check out their stuff! Click the links below and see if you find your new favorite song! Rock on boys!" — Red Lolli Music, Hidden Gems in the Music Industry!
