Biography
Shane's younger years were spent playing football, baseball, hunting, fishing and just being a normal kid in rural Ohio. As the high school years passed by, Shane found himself being drawn deeper and deeper into all types music, especially country music. He would often sing along with the songs on the radio and find himself checking out the credits on the album covers to see who the writers, musicians, and producers of his favorite songs were. Even though Shane had participated in the school choir for many years, he had not realized his ability to sing until he was nearly 19 years old. By that time in Shane's life, he had fallen in love with the lyrics of legendary songwriters Dean Dillon, Hank Cochran, Sanger D. Shafer, and Merle Haggard just to name a few. Shane then took up the hobby of writing songs and at the age of 20 years old, started to teach himself to play the guitar. He soon became dedicated to singing, writing, and developing his skills as a musician in pursuit of a career in the music business. Realizing he needed more than just a dream to live on, Shane re-enrolled at the University of Cincinnati's Clermont College in the fall of 1997 where he later graduated with an Associates of Applied Science. While Shane was in school he began performing at local clubs, entering talent competitions, and working on his overall performance. Shane's love for country music and pure talent left audiences wanting more and he soon started performing live and with various local bands.Since the early days in Shane's career, Shane has evolved into a pure singer-songwriter and has focused his talent towards writing and performing his own music, creating his own identity, and making the best music he can possibly make. His focus on songwriting has left Shane with very little time for touring and for establishing himself as an artist but the decision has resulted in a solid catalog of honest, real life, commercial quality songs. Shane believes it all begins with the song and believes if he can create a catalog of great songs, an artist deal will find it's own way to him. Shane has recently recorded a 3 song CD called “First Steps” and is performing at local venues around Cincinnati and many songwriter clubs in Nashville. Shane currently also has several songs being pitched to major label artists in Nashville.
