Previously in a pop-punk/old school punk band, Andrew Kambanis, Brian Jarnich, and Will Carty were already bandmates and close friends. But Andrew, seeking a project that would be more musically fitting and less stressful had decided to leave the band due to the musical restrictions and differences between him and the lead singer/guitarist. Brian and Will soon followed, sharing similar feelings, and joined Andrew in forming a new band. Andrew and Brian, being into heavier music around the lines of metal and hardcore, and Will, who possesed more of a mainstream pop-punk edge to him, decided to combine all of their musical interests into one single project. In need of a bassist and heavier vocalist to accompany WillÂ’s pop edge and Andrew’s dark style, Andrew brought in Derek Maranzano who made the band complete, adding his own musical interests along with sharing the ones that they all had in common. Thus, the band was formed under the name "Fountain Suicide" in July of 2007.

After months of studio time, tons of practices and re-writes, and countless efforts to find a sound that could incorporate everyones tastes, the band sought the aid of Alex Santullo, long time friend and drummer of "The Crowning" (Formerly known as Lost And No One Knows: http://www.myspace.com/TheCrowningNY), to help produce a line up of hard-hitting, fast paced tracks that both the band and fans could enjoy and have fun with. The band sat down and, with some advice here and there from Alex, managed to direct itself in a productive direction. But the band encountered more obstacles as time went by.

Though the band had started producing catchy crowd pleasers (previewed solely at the bands studio), they had found themselves stuck yet again. Facing more issues with finding a solid sound due to conflicts in genre preferences, financial issues, a near break up, and suffering tons of writers block, the band was in deperate need of a sit down.

After a long discussion between the 4 bandmates, they embraced the monster they had been creating song after song. The band was renamed and with the members unanimously deciding on it, Derek was moved from playing bass to lead vocals providing a power and energy the band deperately needed.

The set was complete.

"Our Broken Farewell" was born.

This band comes from a group of guys with interests in music that are very similar to each other, but each member also has a special interest of his own, and the combination of everyones input has finally created a sound that is loved by all. Song by song the band has grown, diving deeper and deeper into a world of heartfelt lyrics, tough breakdowns, and crowd pleasing chorus’.

"Our Broken Farewell" is a band formed from sheer blood, sweat, and tears, with a never ending promise to bring nothing but great music to your ears.
