From 1982-1996 Scott spent most of his time in the jazz & improvised music trenches...since then, he has enjoyed a steady return to his rock & blues roots while continuing to explore the jazz tradition & beyond. Scott's new album "Go There" was released in May 2007 and features performances by Kenny Soule, Kofi Burbridge, Oteil Burbridge and Ron Brendle. He has toured frequently with Nnenna Freelon and remains a favorite accompanist & sideman of many NC-based musicians including Lois DeLoatch and Ghezzi. His current side-projects include Guitarspeak and Ghezzi. Scott produces music recordings, works with individual music/guitar students and has appeared on numerous recordings (jazz, blues, pop/rock, film) including a Grammy-Nominated Performance in 1997 (Nnenna Freelon's "Shaking Free"). He's collaborated with dancers & choreographers and has interpreted visual art through his own compositions.

Scott has performed in the USA, Brasil, Canada, Europe, Asia, The Middle East & Central America.

Experienced & adept in jazz, blues, r&b, rock, and pop settings, his versatility has allowed him to share the stage with a diverse group of musicians including Charlie Byrd, David Murray, Jon Lucien & Jack Wilkins as well as many lesser-known artists. His groups have opened for Toots Thielemans, Kevin Eubanks, Buddy Rich & others. Scott appeared with the 1992 Philip Morris Superband and has performed with jazz singer Nnenna Freelon at clubs, concerts and festivals worldwide. Other musical travels include a USIA Arts America Program (Central America) with vibraphonist Jon Metzger.
