Bushra El-Turk studied composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, supported by a PRS Foundation Scholarship and graduating with a Master in Composition with Distinction. She has written various works for the concert hall, dance and theatre productions which have been performed and broadcast in the UK, across Europe and the Middle East. She is finalist of various prizes including the Aberdeen International Music Prize of which her string quartet, Eating Clouds, was performed by members of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra earlier this year. She is undergoing a year-long scheme with Opera Genesis at the Royal Opera House in London.
