BudaRest / Press

“BudaRest, “Peel Away” Debut full-length CD “Too Much To Remember” from Florida’s BudaRest offers the novel and delicious dissonance of a male/female duo. Bud Buckley and Jax Resto bring their individual talents to the group, with lead singer Bud sharing the time worn-vocals of a guy who’s battered a pair or two of boots, and Jax providing percussion and a sweet backdrop with accompanying vocals. Together, he composes the music, and she writes lyrics. On album opener “Peel Away,” BudaRest tells the tale of down & out earthy hero Joe Kovak, whose spoiled girlfriend can’t seem to choose between his honesty and earnestness—or her superficial rich kid friends and entitled ex-boyfriend. Sounds like every reality show clouding the TV airwaves, huh? Only here, we have the advantage of a gritty, garage band arrangement and the wearied vocals of Bud (with Jax softening the edge with lush harmonies). In all, “Peel Away” is another folk-infused rocker that ably demonstrate”

“Well crafted and versatile album. Not only is this album full of well crafted songs that have a vintage rock sound, the album is a soundtrack to a soon to be published eBook novel called Too Much to Remember by Jax Resto, which is a very cool concept. Wasn't able t get it on my kindle but I prefer iBooks anyway. Overall I'm very happy with this album and I think BudaRest is doing great things musically and I will be listening to this album for a long time.”

“Amazing! I bought this album after a friend recommended it to me. I'm so glad I did. I can't stop listening to this album. I found out that this music is going to be in an eBook novel by Jax Resto called Too Much To Remember. I've already read and heard the first ten chapters. I can't wait for the rest.”

“BudaRest is a multi-talented duo who perform great rock music as well as they write. Also found out this is embedded in a young adult eBook novel soon ti be released on IBooks. Let's hope there is a lot more to come from Jax Resto and Bud Buckley”

“I love this album! It feels like a fresh twist on classic rock. The instrumentals are tight, and Bud's vocals just boom right through my headphones! "When July smiles" is my favorite track, but the entire collection is a good jam. I'm keeping my eye on BudaRest. This band is on the rise!”

“They have brought experiences from lives that are less than ordinary to create intelligent and memorable music. So click on the link and check out their music.”

“The songs on this release are mature, meticulously and tastefully realized deliveries characterized by solid vocal presences revealed in an intentionally warm audio environment. The melodic arches and the harmonic structures are established with scientific rigor and flattered with modest elegance. The disc oftentimes sounds to strike up an eloquent, and surprising connotation with the mere ethos of the renowned Nirvana Unplugged concert from the '90s, as the audio fabric itself shows the same readiness to render soft, funnily bloated, but very skillfully limited sounds that are ready and able to appreciate each other's volumetrics, and their co-operation warrant a lush listening experience all the way through the respective builds. Quality is a more eminent consideration then quantity, which is the optimum demeanor of the type of self expression that demands revisits, needless to say”

“The thing is I really want a cigarette and a cold shower because of listening to this guy singing !! Talented and sexy ”
