After playing guitar in the pit for musicals and theatre shows, I started gigging localy to pay the way. I made backing tracks on an old Fostex x26 that used to slow down as it heated up and change key throughout the gig. As time progressed and mini discs led to DAT led to mp3 I ended up playing in bands in Spain and the Middle East, notably doing the top class hotels such as Intercon in Muscat and Crown plaze in Dubai.
