Bio
Bringing it strong with their own blend of FunkRop-HipHunk, Browntown is forging its way through the indie music jungle.
Stuff Magazine (Aug 2007 issue) named Browntown’s single “Turkey Boy” one the “Top Ten Songs to Download” and with subsequent CD sales in the U.S., Europe, and Japan, Browntown continues to gain popularity and notariety.
Following the release of their self titled debut album (2005) and their glorious second album “Organ” (2007), Browntown, once again, delivers that smooth, hip, original sound, with their EP “Wrench” (2008).
Browntown is a 5-man ensemble named after a ‘85 Ford Econoline party van. Like the brown wall-to-wall carpet, brown velvet curtains, and super funky brown body decals, Browntown is sure to excite.
The band:
Puma D:
the word man, crooning the vocals while cranking out sweet melodies on guitar, and keys.
Catfish:
the “soul” maker on lead and rhythm guitar. There’s honey in those lead and back-up vocals.
The Swede:
the low end on the bass and vocals.
Hersch:
the utility man on saxophone & keyboards.
Tron:
the beatmaster holdin’ it down on drums and percussion.
Browntown’s live shows bring more good times than J.J. Walker. With sounds resonating like the Beastie Boys running into a pool of Classic R&B with Rock’n’Roll water wings, the b-town boys continue to receive amorous approval from new and existing fans alike.
