About
Growing up in a normal American family at the mouth of the Devil's Den in Las Vegas NV, Shaun DeGraff (a.k.a. Brother Luke), has truly witnessed the extreme sides of humanity. Drawing from life's little roller coasters, Brother Luke creates an energy that has to be experienced to believe.
With just his mouth and two hands, Luke builds a symphony of sound never before seen. His live performances have recently garnished him the honorable title of "Most Engaging Live Performer Of 2009" by Amped Magazine. With the help of constant touring and word-of-mouth, he has successfully created an avid worldwide grass-roots following. "Universes are born when you put positive and negative electricity together in the same room and just see what happens" says Brother Luke. " I want to represent a raw musical version of just that".
Perhaps this is why he has traveled the world on a mission to perform. He began his journey by playing keyboards in a cover band in Japan, and while touring, he continued to extensively write his original music. The exposure in Japan allowed him to further his travels internationally through Eurasia and the Middle East with a new band performing more and more of his originals. After 9/11, he decided to perform on a USO tour for the American soldiers in Sarajevo and Bosnia. He has since returned to America and has been known to have played alongside the likes of The Reverend Al Green, Sublime tribute Badfish, Chaka Kahn & the one and only Stevie Wonder. His CD's "In My Room" and "Music For Life" won out of 36,000 international submissions for "Best Modern Rock Album" two consecutive years in a row for 2005 and 2006 by Just Plain Folks.
Brother Luke has also recently connected with his Native American roots and was honored to receive an official tribal citizenship into the Chickasaw Nation in Oklahoma.
