One part Latin, two parts Jazz. Throw in a little Soul, and you’ve got Brian Villegas. Throughout his career, this vocalist has steadfastly carved his niche into the New York jazz landscape, regularly performing in some of the city’s most renowned venues. As a studio music and jazz vocal performance major at the University of Miami, he discovered the freedom that jazz would give him as a singer – and fast fell in love with the music that would lead him down life’s swingin’ path. It’s a path that would lead him to the stage to sing with greats such as Bobby McFerrin, Jon Hendricks, Mark Murphy, Kevin Mahogany, Bob Dorough and Darmon Meadar, to name a few. He starred in a national tour of the award-winning, "Our Sinatra" and has performed at renowned music venues such as the world-famous Birdland, Swing 46, Lincoln Center’s Mid-Summer Night’s Swing Series, The Blue Note, and The Rainbow Room, as a featured soloist. His voice has also taken him abroad to venues throughout Latin America. Brian’s rich family heritage – he’s a first-generation American born to parents of Central American descent – has nurtured a love for Latin music and its influences and it resonates in his sound.
