"Breakerbox almost left Mohawk Place in rubble after completely bringing down the house Friday night. Breakerbox, as the band is currently, has been together for approximately four months. However, when listening to the music it would be easy to assume they've been together for four years. Christina DeNee is the band's lead vocalist. The band also features Scott Calandra on drums. Recently joining the group, Zuri Appleby on bass and Joe Pinnavaia on guitar complete what some might call an All-Star lineup. Even technical difficulties were no match for the bands ability to entertain, as Christina managed to get the crowd fired up even when the music stopped. The band sounds better live than many sound on recording, and their talent is so star like they belong in a constellation. “Drummer/Producer Scott Calandra & Singer/Songwriter Christina DeNee’ both started their music careers at a very young age. Both growing up in music families, Scott made a name for himself at an early age with his funk driven style of drumming throughout the metal/hardcore scene on the East Coast. Son of Grammy nominated Jazz producer, the late Richard Calandra, Scott was always naturally drawn to the production chair, with an incredible ear for songs and eye for talent. Singer/songwriter Christina DeNee’ began performing at the age of 6 singing along with her father at local WNY clubs in his acoustic act. Despite both of her parents being acoustic guitar players, Christina was first drawn to her aunt's piano and started writing songs as early as she can remember -- even little diddy’s to keep her from being scared of the dark!”
