You will not find this quintet lacking in musical talent or experience. With a combined total of over 100 years of experience playing in recognized bands such as The Eno Ramblers, The Friends in Bluegrass, Lonesome Pine Bluegrass Band and many more, Boys From Carolina are steeped in olde time music talent. Don’t ask who plays what: each of these musicians play multiple bluegrass instruments. But particularly mesmerizing is this group’s ability to bring each voice in complete harmony with baritone, tenor, soprano. The founder of the band, Chuck Schutte resides in Raleigh, NC and plays Dobro, sings lead and tenor and has been performing professionally since the age of thirteen. Wright Young lives in Durham NC and plays Mandolin and Fiddle with the group and sings lead, baritone, and tenor. He has been in the business for over 25 years. Larry Nunnery from Benson NC and plays guitar with the band and sings lead, baritone and bass. He has been performing for over 20 years. Bob Wilkerson lives in Angier, NC and plays banjo with the band. Bob’s experience goes back over 40 years and where he played with several professional groups. Richard Roach resides in Chapel Hill, NC and plays Dog House bass with the group. Richard also plays guitar and occasionally sings lead with the group. He has been performing for over 35 years.
